Fellow Democrats: The Michigan Democratic Party Endorsement Convention will take place on March 10, 2012 at Cobo Center in Detroit. At this Convention, we will endorse eight candidates for Education Boards and three candidates for Michigan Supreme Court - an unprecendented action that will give our Democratic candidates the opportunity to meet voters, travel throughout the state, and raise the money needed to defeat Republicans in November. Taking back control of the State Supreme Court means that Democrats will be able to reverse some of the most dangerous Republican rulings coming out of the Court in Lansing, and we want to make sure our Democratic candidates have every possible advantage. I look forward to seeing all of you at the Endorsement Convention on March 10, 2012. We need Democrats from across the state to stand united to ensure Democratic Victory in November.

MDP Membership Form - in order to vote at the 2012 Endorsement Convention, you need to be a member of the Michigan Democratic Party at least 30 days before the event. Check your MDP Membership Expiration Date on your membership card, and if your membership expires before the deadline of February 9th 2012, you can either renew online by clicking here, or you can download, complete and return this membership form. Precinct delegates, elected officials & candidates can become members until March 10, 2012.
Take Back the Michigan Supreme Court in November - There are three seats up for grabs on the Michigan Supreme Court in November. Two seats are currently held by Republican Justices, Stephen Markman and Brian Zahra, who are up for re-election, and one vacant seat - currently held by Democratic-nominated Justice Marilyn Kelly. Our goal in 2012 is to win all three seats and put an end to one of the most blatantly partisan courts in the country. Markman, Zahra, and their Republican colleagues have continuously ruled in favor of major corporations, polluters, oil companies, insurance companies, drug companies, and big banks over victims. It's time we make the Court work for the people again. It's time for justice. We can't let the special interests continue to control Michigan. The Court should be protecting employees assaulted in the workplace, holding polluters accountable when they damage Michigan's environment, stopping big banks from illegally seizing people's homes, and standing up for victims of drug companies and insurance companies. But victims don't get a fair shake under this Court. The Court rules for the special interests that fund their campaigns. Help us put a stop to it in November. Help us take back the Michigan Supreme Court and restore justice for all in Michigan.
