By joining the Michigan Democratic Party, you help our local party grow. And that is important, because we need to register just a few more Democrats in Benzie in order to receive all sorts of help, including money and expertise, from our state party in the November election. If you would like to see some fresh blood among our county commissioners and someone besides our current Republican state representative standing up for us in Lansing, then you should join the party.

You’ll be joining forces with tens of thousands of your Michigan neighbors who believe that local, state, and federal government should provide excellent service and help people by giving them a hand up, not a hand out. Democrats stand for careful but bold investments of public funds in job-building programs, not the same old tax cuts to the same old people who don’t need them—the failed Republican strategy that has left so many of our friends behind. Or protecting our precious natural resources for generations to come, rather than selling them to the highest bidder—usually among the same people who got all of those tax cuts.
