Jess Piper does not know how to take “no” for an answer. That’s why, on Saturday, we’ll hear some of her hard-won wisdom about campaigning and getting to “yes” in counties like hers–and ours.
Jess lives in a very red district in Missouri and is in the middle of her second campaign for that state’s House. She also podcasts weekly–she calls it Dirt Road Democrat–and leads a statewide organization that supports and raises funds for Democrats running in rural districts like hers (and ours).
She’s attracting national attention–most recently from Jen Rubin, the former Washington Post pundit heading up the alternative news and commentary operation The Contrarian.
Here’s Jess speaking with Jen–check out their lively conversation!
We’ll hear directly from Jess this Saturday morning, May 17. She’ll speak to us, and then answer our questions as we compare notes about campaigning in Up North Michigan and farm country Missouri.
Of course, we start with our famous Headquarters coffee klatch at 9:30 a.m., followed by a big bunch of Party announcements at 10. That means hot coffee, tasty treats, and warm conversation–and welcoming some of our newly returned snowbirds.
Or, you can join us via Zoom, also starting at 9:30. The coffee may be virtual, but the conversations are real good. Then we’ll join the folks at HQ for those 10 a.m. announcements, and then link up with Jess.
So now’s the time to register, Zoomers! Just click here to sign up; our tireless Zoombot will respond faster than you can say “Plane Bribery.”
Meanwhile, do stay busy pushing back on The Felon and the feckless Republicans allowing him to do pretty much anything he wants, no matter how damaging to our country or how cruel to our people.
