First up, we will be hearing from Marcelo Betti, representing Justice for Our Neighbors, who will talk about immigration challenges and changes coming in the Biden administration. Marcelo, who immigrated from Sao Paulo, Brazil, at 16, is now an immigration lawyer representing clients in Northern Michigan and beyond. Come prepared to listen and learn about the current immigration situation in the US during “Celebrate Immigrant Heritage Month.”
We’ll also hear from Lucy Straubel, who will give us a quick presentation on the history of Gay Pride Month, which is celebrated in June.
We’ll start at 9:30 am with our virtual coffee klatch, followed at 10:00 am with community and party announcements, and then on to our speakers at 10:30 am.
