This year is the 25th Anniversary of the Benzie Democrats’ Charlotte Robling Honoree Dinner, and we have a wonderful evening planned. We’ll honor three dedicated friends and volunteers — Jim Dulzo, Jack Gyr, and Ed Hoogterp — with all the fanfare their long-term contributions deserve.
Andy Levin is our keynote speaker. A Bloomfield Hills-based attorney, clean energy entrepreneur, and former US Congressman, Levin is also the son of Sander Levin, and nephew of Carl Levin.
In addition to these great presentations, we are also in for a very special dinner! Our members will reach deep into their recipe files (and their memories) to recreate favorite family dishes reflecting their family origins. Our “Immigrant Buffet” promises to be a rare and delicious dining experience and a timely reminder that, unless we are Native Americans, all our families originally came to the U.S. as immigrants, refugees, or involuntarily – and brought some fabulous cuisines with them!
Because the Mills House Ballroom has a limited capacity of 100 guests, reservations are essential.
You may reserve your spots by sending an email to benziedemocrats@gmail.com or by calling the office at 231-325-0008 during staffed office hours with some basic information, including how many are in your party. Once we reach 100 reservations, we will have to stop, so reserve your spots now.
The Charlotte Robling Honoree Dinner is our only annual fundraiser that Benzie Democrats do for ourselves. We use the money raised from the dinner to communicate (website, newsletters, ads, billboards and more), support candidates, and pay the rent and other costs for our headquarters year-round. We need to make this evening count!
We accept contributions in any amount and we hope you will be as generous as you can. You can send a check before the dinner to Benzie Democrats, P.O. Box 403, Beulah, MI 49617 or drop one off at headquarters during staffed hours. (M, T, W, F 1pm to 4pm, Th 9:30am to 12:30pm)
Cash, checks, and credit cards will also be accepted at the event.
PLEASE NOTE: All donations made on our website BenzieDemocrats.com to the Headquarters (upper right) between September 15 and October 15 will be considered as a donation to the Honoree Dinner fundraiser.
