On Saturday, March 21, starting at 9:30am, we’ll coffee klatch, hear some positive Party and community announcements, and hear from award-winning journalist Keith Schneider on the timely topic of Data Centers.
If there are two words that strike fear into the hearts of people who like their communities just the way they are, don’t want higher electric bills, and want to see their water not only stay clean but remain plentiful, they’re “Data Center.”
There is plenty to be concerned about when it comes to those ginourmous facilities, whose numbers are growing by leaps and bounds. How awful are they, really? Can they be developed responsibly, or is every one of them a lost cause? What can states and local communities do to protect themselves from their very real downsides?
Keith Schneider will speak to us about data centers from a very balanced, responsible, careful perspective, given that he has reported on data centers in Michigan and nationally.
If you can make it in person, great! The food is always worth it. If you can’t be there, Zoom in. Here’s the link.
