Good Petitions, Bad Petitions. Get the Lowdown!

Did you make it to our last meeting September 20?

Some very good speakers explained the good and the bad petitions out there–all trying to put propositions or constitutional amendments on the November 2026 ballot. We also learned how to help speed up the good ones…and slow down the bad ones.

Want to see what you missed? Or get a refresher on what they said?

Just click here (on our YouTube Channel), look at the description and click on ‘more’, then scroll down to the index.

Then you can just cut to the chase: Click on the speakers you want to hear and jump straight ahead to their presentations.

First up is Christy McGillivray, of Voters Not Politicians, Michigan’s great non-partisan non-profit. Christy’s Decline to Sign info tells us how to push back on two vote-suppressing proposals now circulating.

Then Christy talks about her own orfganization’s projectr: MI Money Out of Politics. She gives some great background and asks for help. To get involved, just click here and they’ll hook you right up.

Next, Traverse City’s Barb Smith explains Rank My Vote: Voters can pick first and second choices in some elections. Barb explains this (seemly) confusing thing so well! Contact her to get involved.

And TC’s Kate Gallup explains Invest in MI Kids, which raises big money for our public schools with a 1% surcharge on million-dollar incomes. Interested? Click here to get in touch with Kate.

And do stick around for the last speaker–Rebecca Amidon, a Manistee Dem running for Michigan’s 32nd District Senate Seat–which includes Benzie. She made quite the impression–check it out! Want to know more? Visit her web site.
